History of our farm
Lynne and Dave Pumpking both were born and grew up in Texas but after moving to Dallas they never forgot what the life on farm was like. So in 2011, these guys decided to get their business skills to work on creating a farm.
Of course, with a spirit similar to their home one in Texas. As a result, Pumpking Farms was founded. They hope that your visit to their family farm will be a true refreshment to you!Nature calls us all to the farm!
At the farm
Originally a strawberry & melon private farm in the 1920’s & 1930’s, Pumpking Farms re-opened it’s doors in 2011 as a dairy, meat and honey farm as well as a log-cabin tourist destination. The land there has been in our family’s ownership for over 90 years and will be home sweet home for many years to come.
We are located just 8 miles east of Gainesville, Texas and just one hour from the Dallas-Ft. Worth metropolitan area. See our Map page for more detailed directions. The farm currently has 2 acres of vegetables planted and lots of big and small honey beehives.
We additionally produce a lot of dairy and meat products, with a range of our food commodities from ground beef to live yoghurts mixed up with pumpkin seeds and raisins.
An additional fine touch to this peaceful scenery is our patio nestled among an old and monumental oak lane. Spending solitary time there gives you an eerie feeling of different epochs mixed altogether in one place.A sweet view across our lavender field composes a perfect setting where to enjoy our tasty lavender treats. Also be sure to watch the hummingbirds as they often fly over!
